“I love cameras, I love the way, that you can instantly capture a moment, a memory! Often I spend days on end, just taking pictures of whatever I can find, anything that i find interesting, whatever’s worth keeping. What I especially love is when I find something that is unique only to me, something that only I can recognize that only I can acknowledge. But the true brilliance, the cherry on top, is the fact that each photo, each captured piece of my life is mine, forever.”

As the sun peeked up above the distant hills, a small, comfortable bed resting in a simple, modest house, began to move, tossing from side to side, unwilling to wake, but determined, with one desire set in thought, photo opportunity. So like many mornings prior, he got up, showered, dressed, and ate. He gathered his things and stepped into the morning sun, with him, held firmly in his hands, a camera.

“Oh how I enjoy my day trips, just spending the day taking photo’s of everything. Every week I go someplace different, whether it’s into the city, through the mountains or across the sea. I go there, each and every time finding more and more scenes and situations to capture. Then, I return home, and experience it all again. If I want, I can go back to LA, or bathe in the sun of Italy, even be 2 again. Whatever I choose, I can remember.”

With the sun directly above and the creeping clouds beyond the distance, a man carefully makes his way down the beach towards the distant mountains. Stopping every now then to more closely observe his surroundings, however not once did he use his camera.

“I suppose that over time, as I take more and more photos, my expectations have increased. I find I need to make my way further and further away from home, in order to experience a new experience, to find something I haven’t yet found. But regardless, I will keep walking, I will keep searching, I will find what I seek, I will.”

Seemingly like the sun, a man weary from the day, rests on the head of a cliff, watching the sun shine through the clouds as it slowly descends beneath the ocean. So as he did in the morning he repeated, with the rising sun he woke, and with it he slept.

“Now my passion, it has become my obsession, my love, Is now my curse. What was once so obvious to me is now transparent. Now nothing to me seems worth keeping, why should It? Not now when I have everything, all my experiences to remember. But I can’t leave it behind, I can’t stop searching for that of which I had, but no longer know, I just can’t stop.”

On a particularly stormy night, a normally peaceful house was restless. Unable to close his eyes and relax, he tossed and turned, with the sweet peace of sleep only just out of reach. Like the storm his, his frustration grew and strengthened, but remained suppressed. He rose staring towards the closed curtains, drawn towards the window, entranced by the loud hiss of the wind. Lightly placing his hands on the curtains he, with one swift motion revealed the wind, the clouds, and the moon. He stared at this scene with such feeling and thought, that it almost seemed as if his desperate emotions seeped from his heart, and into the storm, fueling it further, helping it to become what he so much desired. With time the clouds swelled and churned, with the fury he once had, the thunder roared like screams he never shouted. The tired man, now lively with excitement, grabbed his camera and disappeared into the storm. Because now the moon, and the stars, shined with the joy and peace he now felt.

As the clouds parted, and the sun rose, so was revealed what the storm had taken.
While a solemn figure, kneels before his lost possessions, with a slight smile evident on his face.

The following day the sun shone brightly over a rich blue sea, which was filled with sparkling diamonds. The plants seemingly enriched from the rain, were full of life and covered with blooming flowers. Nature was alive and active, with a low hum of the honey bees, and the sweet little tunes, sung by the birds. It is a truly magnificent day, as many can be seen strolling along the golden sand of the beach, watching the distant storm as it slowly fades away.
